Breaking News

There are wild rumours on the Internet about News due to break tomorrow, Sunday. They are, as far as I know, all wrong. Far too wild. Far too dramatic. Far too much in the febrile spirit of the current pontificate. Calm down! ... No; it's not that, either !!

But, tomorrow, a piece of news will break: an action taken by a small group of small and very humble Christian people from many countries; some men, some women, some lay, some clerical.

It may not (to quote Churchill) be "the beginning of the end" of the disorders of this pontificate.

Its effect will depend on you and thousands like you. Depending on how you, with God's grace, take it forward, it might be looked back upon in the future as (Churchill again) "the end of the beginning".

It's up to you. And to our Lady of Fatima and Walsingham, who promised that her Immaculate Heart will prevail.

I'm thinking you're a part of this group, Father.

Whatever it is, I'm in favor. Let me know if you need a pitchfork. It's about come to that.

God has given us many of his gifts, and one of the greatest and most important is freedom. The first Autumn Marian feats is tomorrow, 24. September, and it is devoted to the Blessed Lady of Ransom. Our beloved blessed Lady, Mother of God, we pray, redeem us from all slavery, and in particular of this one where we are now!

Fr. Hunwicke,
When I saw the news of the formal correction, I immediately remembered this post. I skimmed the article (but with some care), looking for a list of signatories. And then I did find your name.
"Not since the Middle Ages..."
Bravo, Reverend Father, bravo.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

It may not be the beginning of the end but it sure is a shot in the arm! Thank you, Father.

Thanks for taking a stand. Would that more should do so. Jeremiah 9:3.

I have read the correction. A thing of wonder and grace it is. I see your name among the signatories. I thank you for your courage and faithful witness. May God bless and protect all of you. Where can this Catholic sign up?

I shall not fear the dark of night, nor the arrow that flies by day.

My congratulations, Fr Hunwicke, on speaking truth to power. Ad multos annos!

(You may also wish to invoke St Mary of the Cross (MacKillop), Australia's first saint, who was unjustly excommunicated by an unworthy bishop; and St Athanasius too.)

Gaude, Maria Virgo: cunctas hæreses sola interemisti in universo mundo.

Once you take over at the CDW, could you please have the reigning Supreme Pontiff insert the following into the Litany of Loreto:

Mediatrix omnium gratiarum, ora pro nobis.
Interemptrix cunctarum hæresum, ora pro nobis.

And yes it is the beginning of the end and the end of the beginning. Our Lady has already won. She is ransoming the WHOLE Church. Praise God. Praise God. His Mercy endureth forever. Our Lady's Triumph is here.

Father, how may I take it forward as a layperson? We have an archbishop and auxillary bishop in our archdiocese. I plan to print the 25 pages of the document and send them to him including my parish priest and respectfully ask for a response.

I am also praying for all signatories of the document. Is there more that I can do?

Adding my thanks for being one ofbthe signatories of this document. All signatories are in my daily prayers.

Thank you for being a light in the darkness, Father. God Keep You. St Michael be ever at your side. Our Lady of Walsongham, St Edmund Campion, St Robert Southwell, St Thomas More, St John Fisher, St Margaret Clitherow pray for Father Hunwicke and all the Church Militant.

@geneticallycatholic, if you are in the UK and within striking distance of Westminster, you might want to consider the Rosary Crusade of Reparation, Saturday 14th October. The procession goes from HQ to Brompton Oratory. Best wishes.

As an outside observer, may I say that if I was ever inclined to any ecumenical conversation and conviviality, it would be with the Correctio set.

I hope that such a correction is not a fond thing vainly imagined. It certainly is not at all a vain thing, even if fondly imagined!

I am concerned that there will be vicious reprisals. In fact, I am sure that academics and parish clergy will not only suffer, but be made examples of. The age of Liberal intolerance is gathering strength. May God give you strength! May God give you wisdom.

I am delighted with this news and delighted also to see your name on the list. I would like to add my name but I am very much down the list when it comes to influence within the Church. I hardly think that to sign myself as "Faithful Catholic for 83 years" hardly counts for much.

Thank you Father! You are in my prayers.

JARay, there are two petitions that the "non-scholarly" laity can sign to support the Filial Correction.

I write this comment from my mobile phone and don't know to post links from it.

One of the petitions was created by Steve Skojec. You can find the link on the posts related to the Filial Correction. ...in particular the post of Sept 25 by Steve Skojec. When a commenter on a previous post asked Dr.Shaw how to add his signature as a non-scholar lay person, Dr. Shaw referred the commenter to Skojec's petition.

Lifesite news in concert with the Lepanto Institute also has a petition going in support of the Filial Correction. However it is not clear whether it is only for 'non- scholarly' lay people. This petition can be found on the Lifesite.com website. I myself will only sign one petition so as not to double sign.

Thank you for the info DHC. Unfortunately, I will not be able to physically join the procession as I am not in the UK.

But nothing prevents me from saying an additional rosary that day and join the procession spiritually. So I will be doing that. God bless.
